The majority of pictures taken in the dental surgery are intra-oral and this article looks at the practicalities involved in full-arch, quadrant occlusal, lingual (or palatal) and lateral views, as well as magnified images, oral mucosa, enamel texture, dentine strata and shade analysis for artificial restorations. Additionally, the issue of cross-infection control is considered.
