In the molecule of the title compound, C 13 H 14 O 4 , the benzene ring forms dihedral angles of 18.60 (7) and 81.36 (8)° with the two arms of the malonate moiety. The crystal structure features C—H⋯O interactions, which form chains running parallel to the b axis.
