Abstract
This paper reports the synthesis of SnSb2S4 thin films on precleaned glass substrates via an economic spray pyrolysis method. The impact of film thickness on the linear and nonlinear optical properties of the SnSb2S4 films has fixed. The XRD patterns of the SnSb2S4 films demonstrate that as-prepared films are polycrystalline and exhibit orthorhombic single phase. The chemical composition of the SnSb2S4 films has scanned via an energy dispersive X-ray technique. Also, the linear and dispersion optical parameters of the SnSb2S4 films like the energy gap E-g, oscillation energy E-o, refractive index n and the dispersion energy E-d were computed and discussed in details. Urbach energy magnitudes of the SnSb2S4 films increase from 0.59 to 0.74 eV, while the optical energy gap magnitudes of the SnSb2S4 films reduced from 1.53 to 1.21 eV. The nonlinear refractive index n(2) and optical conductivity of the SnSb2S4 thin films have been also evaluated and discussed.
