Abstract
The laser dye coumarin 307 has been found to exhibit two amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) bands in inert solvents. The dual ASE characteristics of C307 are similar to the dyes which exhibit dual ASE. The polarity of the dye molecule primarily influence the dual ASE phenomenon rather than the solvent molecule.
