Novel amorphous iridium(III)-acetanilide porous coordinated polymer (PCPs) was successfully synthesized in 11 min by applying high energy laser assisted one pot synthesis technique. The structural and micro-structural features of initially produced square planar units of amorphous Ir-acetanilide-complex as well as Ir-PCPs were carefully characterized. Additionally, Ir-PCPs exhibited a relatively high BET surface area of ∼1678 m2 g−1 which qualified it to be strong potential candidate as CO2-capture. Moreover, antiproliferative activities of the novel synthesized cyclometalated Ir-PCPs were tested and gave a promising results.
