Abstract
In the title compound, C14H13N3O2 center dot H2O, the azomethine double bond adopts an E conformation and the N-N=C-C torsion angle is 178.37 (19)degrees. The dihedral angle between the benzene and pyridine rings is 5.58 (12) degrees and the C atom of the methoxy group is roughly coplanar with its attached ring [deviation = 0.157 (3) angstrom]. In the crystal, the components are linked by O-H center dot center dot center dot O, O-H center dot center dot center dot N, N-H center dot center dot center dot O and C-H center dot center dot center dot O hydrogen bonds, forming (001) sheets. The water O atom accepts one N-H center dot center dot center dot O and two C-H center dot center dot center dot O interactions from the adjacent organic molecule.
