Abstract

Multidisciplinary Sciences Science & Technology Science & Technology - Other Topics
Specimens of Oreochromis niloticus were exposed to lethal and sublethal concentrations of Saudi crude oil. The LC-50 value was computed as 13.18 ml/l. The fish exposed showed changes in behaviour. Hyperglycaemia was observed in the fish exposed to sublethal concentrations and it persisted for the whole period of investigation. Glycogen level in muscle and liver became depleted. The reduction was more in higher concentrations in the latter phase of treatment.
