Abstract
The present work was conducted to (1) determine the best medium for IVM of camel oocytes, (2) study the effect of natural protein (Soybean protein extraction) on IVM of camel oocytes, (3) detection the desired time for in vitro maturation of camel oocytes; and 4) measurement the gene expression of Connexin 43 and Glucose transporter-1 (GLUT-1) genes according to changes in the culture conditions'. Camel oocytes were cultured in tow standard different media (TCM-199 and CR1aa) and tow different modified media (TCM-199 and CR1aa + plant protein extraction) for two different times (24 h or 42 h) for each medium. Results showed that there is no significant difference for glutathione concentration between oocytes groups matured in different culture treatments. Also, although, there is no significant difference between different groups for expression of Conex.43 and Glut1 genes; G1 and G2 appeared significant by different from G5 and G6. It may be concluded that, the maturation media for camel oocytes can be supplemented with two protein source without any significant difference on maturation rates. Culture for 24 h or 42 h seems to be optimal maturation time for camel oocytes.
