Abstract
An investigation on T. glabrata , in the digestive tract (oral cavity, small and large intestines, rectum and, only in still-born and young subjects not older 10 days, the stomach) was conducted in mammals who died in captivity in the Paris Zoological Park, during a 17-year period from 1963 to 1979. From 1212 mammals examined, belonging to 150 species, 30 carriers, belonging to 20 species, were detected. In this ecological report, the following points are studied: incidence of age and diet; yearly distribution of carriers; carriage influence according to the zoological family and species; distribution of T. glabrata along the digestive tract; fungal environment of T. glabrata in relation to the digestive flora in different sections of the digestive tract, models of association with other micromycetes.
