Abstract
Cardiovascular diseases are a high impact health problem in the world, which is the main reason why it is important to detect risk factors in early stages to intervene in teenagers’ habits to decrease those diseases. A quantitative descriptive cross-sectional study has been developed and the instrument has been divided into three categories: Body mass index (BMI), lifestyle, and pathological family history. The sample was 120 university students and 13.33% of them are overweight and 3.33% are obese grade I. The 71.6% of the respondents have diabetes in their family history and 38.3% high blood pressure. The 17.28% eat healthy every day and 50% don’t do exercise.
