We theoretically investigate the effect of the linewidth enhancement factor (known as the alpha-factor) on the nonlinear dynamics of a distributed feedback (DFB) laser subjected to external coherent optical injection. This factor has shown considerable effect on the behavior of the injected laser, as shown in the so-called stability map. (C) 2014 The Japan Society of Applied Physics
