Abstract
The results of the present study on the testis of the mice Mus muscles treated with basal diet without vitamins for four weeks showed some histopathological abnormalities as compared with the corresponding controls. The present investigation clearly demonstrates that vitamins deficiencies induced prominent lesions in testicular tissues. The damage caused in the testis displayed variable degenerative changes included reduction of the tubular diameter, alteration of the general architecture of the seminiferous tubules and disorganization of the germinal epithelium which showed variable degrees of degeneration, and spermatogenic arrest as well as necrosis. The histological changes included also, large areas of hemorrhage, congestion of blood vessels and infiltration of lymphocytic inflammatory cells in the intertubular tissue, besides the marked increase in the intertubular spaces. On the other hand. Sertoli cells of the treated groups appeared normal and were not affected by the treatment. Moreover, the intertubular tissue showed various degrees of degeneration of the interstitial Leydig cells. The present study revealed that the testes of mice showed marked histological damage which increased by the time of treatment.
