Abstract
The optical properties of Zn1-xMgxS/PVA nanocomopsite prepared via casting technique are investigated over the spectral region of 200-800nm. Structural property studies were performed using X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy techniques. The thermal stability of pure and doped PVA polymers was examined by differential scanning calorimetry. Various optical parameters such as, the optical energy gap, single oscillator energy, refractive index, dispersion energy, optical dielectric constant and Urbach energy have been calculated and discussed with respect to the formed chemical bonds that present in the PVA system with the existence of Mg dopants in Zn1-xMgxS nanoparticles with different concentrations up to 10%.
