Abstract

Lead-argon films of different composition are prepared. The superconductivity is quenched at an argon concentration of 18.5 at %. A linear dependence of the superconducting transition temperature T sub(c) on the reciprocal of the logarithm of the sample thickness is observed. The reduction in T sub(c) is explained as a result of changes in the electronic band structure.
