Abstract

Clean fuels Hydrogen Laser applications Lasers Oxygen Photocatalysis Transition metals Water splitting WO 3
The effect of different transition metals (Fe, Co, Ni, Cu and Zn), at different concentrations, on the photocatalytic activity of WO 3 for splitting of water into hydrogen and oxygen was studied under UV laser irradiation. Moreover, we investigated the role of the configuration of 3d-orbitals of the doped transition metals in enhancing, or hindering, the production of hydrogen and oxygen.
