Abstract
The Phase, microstructural and dielectric properties of Ba1-xSrxTi4O9 (0 <= x <= 0.8) ceramics were investigated. The XRD analysis revealed the formation of orthorhombic structured (Pnmm) BaTi4O9 phase. The XRD peaks were observed to shift towards the lower 2 theta values with increasing Sr2+ contents which may be attributed to the substitution of relatively larger cation of Sr2+ (R-Sr = 1.61 angstrom) for Ba2+ (R-Ba = 1.44 angstrom) in BaTi4O9. The dielectric constant (epsilon(r)) increased with Sr2+ substitution from 22 to 122 at 1MHz. The maximum value of the dielectric loss was observed 0.11922 for x = 0.8 at 1 MHz.
