Abstract
In this work a simple electro-chemical etching (ECE) circuit is developed for track revealing in irradiated polycarbonate (Makrofol E) detectors. In this circuit the alternating frequency varies from 100 KHz to 1 MHz, while the alternating voltage varies from 100 volts up to 1 Kvolts. For ECE KOH 30% plus ethyl alchol (1:4) solution is used as ethhant at room temperature.
Makrofol detectors were irradiated with neutrons from an Am-Be source. Electrochemical etching results indicated that maximum track densities were obtained after 75 minutes and optimum etching was obtained at 650 V and 500 KHz.
