Abstract

Tin metal was cathodically deposited from pure and pig Sn anodes and from acid baths with or without varying amounts of Fe, Cu and Zn ions. The optimum conditions for the recovery of Sn from pig metal, produced by the smelting of local cassetrite, were outlined. These conditions are the electrodeposition from electrolyte composed of 50 gm/l exp --1 SnSO sub 4 , 100 gm/l exp --1 H sub 2 SO sub 4 , 1.5 gm/l exp --1 gelatin and current densities up to 30 mA/cm exp --2 , at 25 deg C. 19 ref.--AA
