Abstract
Reported in this contribution are the synthesis and characterization of bidentate bis(imino) pyridine Re(I) complexes 2,6-{2,6-iPr(2)C(6)H(3)N = CPh}(2)(NC5H3)Re(CO)(3)X (X = Br (2), Cl (3), and OSO2CF3 (4)). Compounds 2 and 3 were prepared by direct reaction of bis(imino) pyridine ligand 2,6-{2,6-iPr(2)C(6)H(3)N = CPh} 2(NC5H3) (1) with Re(CO) 5X (X = Br, Cl) in toluene solution at 100 degrees C. Further treatment of 2 or 3 with Ag(OSO2CF3), in both instances, resulted in the formation of 4. Molecular structures of the new compounds (2, 3, and 4) were established by single crystal X-ray diffraction, and confirmed by elemental analysis and NMR studies. (C) 2015 Elsevier B.V.
