Abstract

Dielectric microcavities Entanglement Polaritons
The effects of a thin metallic layer on the electromagnetic properties of an asymmetric planar dielectric microcavity are explored and their influence on the emission characteristics and cooperative effects are determined for dipole emitters localised in the vicinity of the metallic layer. We report novel effects arising from the variation of the electron density of the metal and there are unusual features due to pair cooperative effects arising from the dielectric mismatch.
