Abstract
This study investigates the characteristics of flow parameters like Brinkman number, magnetic parameter, diffusion parameter, Weissenberg number and ratio of temperature and concentration parameters for the entropy generation in reactive dissipative flow of Carreau-Yasuda fluid over a stretched surface. A total entropy expression is derived for the Carreau-Yasuda fluid using the second law of thermodynamics. Electrical conducting slip flow is considered. Furthermore, Joule heating, heat generation/absorption and dissipation effects are accounted for the development of the energy equation. Appropriate transformations and semi-analytical technique (homotopy analysis method) are utilized to obtain the series solutions for nonlinear flow expressions. Our obtain results show that an increase in magnetic parameter, Brinkman number, diffusion parameter and concentration ratio parameter causes an enhancement in the entropy generation rate. The engineering curiosity like skin friction coefficient and heat transfer rate (Nusselt number) are discussed numerically in the presence of magnetic parameter, Weissenberg number, Prandtl number, Eckert number and heat generation/absorption parameter. The main theme of this research article is to increase the knowledge of the effects flow behavior and heat transfer on the entropy generation, and to motivate the engineers and researchers to investigate progressively novel characteristics that can take development on the entropy generation minimization.
