Abstract
The title compound, ethyl 3-{2-[(3-methyl-1H-indol-2-yl)carbonyl]hydrazinylidene} butanoate (3), was prepared via reaction of 3- methyl-1H-indole-2-carbohydrazide (1) and ethyl 3- oxobutanoate (2) under reflux. The structure of the synthesized compound was assigned on the basis of elemental analysis, IR, H-1-NMR, mass spectral and X-ray data.
