Abstract

Human myelin suspension is agglutinated by rabbit anti-C′3 and anti-C′4 antibodies. Endotoxin Lipopolysaccaride, Zymosan, Cobra Factor, Inulin and Carragheenan, all complement activators, cause release of soluble proteins from myelin fragments. The release is prevented by prior treatment of the myelin preparation with anti-C′3 and anti-C′4 antibodies.
