catalysts show a wide temperature range for decomposition on thermal treatment allowing the formation of monoclinic β-MoO
3
(characterized by Raman spectroscopy and X-ray powder diffraction); this new supported phase leads specifically to dimethoxymethane in the methanol oxidation reaction.
