Total body lengths for the fish Barbus xanthopterus from a moderate pond ranched from 145 to 726 mm .The lengths of their alimentary canal from 120 to 1780 mm. Their relative lengths were from 0.83 to 2.22, hence this fish could be considered as omnivorous and accept the dry pellets. Feeding rate increased with the, raising in water temperature comparably to winter season. This Iraqi species can be cultured in pods to keep it from extinction and not for commercial purposes.
