Abstract
Herein, we report the fabrication and characterization of highly sensitive and selective glucose biosensor based on ZnO ellipsoids decorated multiwalled carbon nanotubes ( MWCNT) composite. The ZnO ellipsoids decorated MWCNT composite were prepared by facile ultrasonication followed by hydrothermal process. The fabricated glucose biosensor exhibited a very high and reproducible sensitivity of 157.5 mu A mM(-1) cm(-2) and detection limit ( based on S/N ratio) of 5 mu M. The fabricated biosensor exhibited a linear dynamic range from wide linear range from 0.01 to 15.0 mM and correlation coefficient R-2 = 0.9994. Further, the fabricated ZnO ellipsoids decorated MWCNT composite based glucose biosensor exhibited improved sensing response for the detection of glucose in PBS and serum samples.
