Abstract
In the present work, the polymeric materials, polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) and polyethylene (PE) were used as filling materials in calcium-based greases with different contents 5, 10 and 15%. Performance tests have been carried out using cross pin wear tester. Besides, the possibility of polymeric powders as solid lubricants was investigated by applying a magnetic field and electric current 1.5, 3, 4.5 and 6 volts. The specimens were in the form of cylindrical with 15 mm diameter and 160 mm length. The test specimens prepared from carbon steel with Modulus of Elasticity, E = 9.5*10(3) MPa, Yield Stress, sigma(y) = 547.1 Mpa.
