A simple GLC-procedure for separation and determination of diethylamine salicylate and methyl nicotinate simultaneously in ointments has been investigated. The quantification of both underivatized drug substances can be undertaken on a column packed with 10% OV-101 on Chromosorb W/HP (80-100 mesh) by programming [50-degrees-C (2 min.), 25-degrees-C min-1 to 200-degrees-C (2 min.)]. Drug derivatization prior to GLC-separation has been also studied.
