Abstract
This work deals with the preparation of some polymeric composites together with their structure assignment. The polymeric composites [P(AM-AA)-EDTANa
2
, P(AM-AA)-mont and P(AM-AA)-KNiHCF] were prepared by gamma radiation-induced template polymerization of acrylic acid (AA) on polyacrylamide P(AM) as a template polymer in the presence of either ethylenediaminetetra acetic acid disodium salt (EDTANa
2
), montmorillonite (mont) or potassium nickel hexacyanoferrate (KNiHCF) complex, respectively. The sorption capacity of these composites towards the Cu(II) ion were studied as a function of EDTANa
2
, montmorillonite and KNiHCF weight ratio present in the final product. Also, their complexation behavior with Cu(II) was studied using FT-IR spectroscopy and the proposed structures of the formed complexes were assigned.
