► The phytochemical study of Kraussia Harv. has yielded, in addition to garjasmine, lignans, flavonoids and triterpenoids. ► This is the second report of the isolation of the iridoid garjasmine from a natural source. ► This is the first unequivocal report of the iridoid garjasmine from the Rubiaceae family.
