Abstract

GMR as large as 50 percent has been observed in a sample annealed with a direct current of 6 A. The Joule-heated samples showed higher GMR than those annealed by the conventional method. This was attributed to less content of residual Co in the Cu matrix for the dc Joule heated samples compared to samples annealed in a furnace.
