Abstract
This study aimed to describe health care providers' perceptions and attitudes toward antimicrobial stewardship programs. This study included a self-formulated questionnaire that was distributed to healthcare professionals. To enhance data collection, we also used online surveys using Google forms. Most respondents agreed that antimicrobial resistance is a problem worldwide (77.12%), and the antimicrobial resistance is a problem in their daily practice (56.30%). Additionally, about 74.29% of the health care providers agreed that antimicrobial stewardship programs reduce problems of antimicrobial resistance. Nearly 80.72% of health care workers are willing to participate in any activities to improve the quality of antimicrobial use at their hospital. The present study showed positive attitudes and encouraging perceptions of health care providers towards the implementation of the antimicrobial stewardship program. Besides, further education and training activities are needed for health care providers to enhance their skills, and to change their negative perceptions.
