Abstract

The unit cell of (C 5Me 5) 2Si(OH) 2 contains twelve molecules arranged as three cyclic tetramers formed by hydrogen-bonding. One tetramer has a centre of symmetry while the other two are unsymmetrical, giving six independent molecules in the unit cell. There is no hydrogen-bonding between tetramers.
