Abstract
This work disseminates the characterization, and facile production of unprecedented amino-functionalized CuNPs synthesized chitosan membrane for application of the purification process of anionic dyes alongside electrochemical properties. Chitosan solution dissolved in an aqueous acetic solution with a 2% acidic concentration, was used to synthesis the membrane, where amino-functionalized CuNPs were dispersed using sonication. Through a hydrothermal solvent process, CuNPs were synthesized through the decomposition of copper (II) acetate monohydrate at extreme temperatures with the presence of (3-aminopropyl) triethoxysilane. There was no presence of impure particles in the CuNPs-membrane, amino-functionalized, from the Energy Dispersive X-ray spectrum. From the Scanning Electron Micrographs, there was the presence of a membrane of amino-functionalized CuNPs-CS. This confirmed the presence of nanocomposites in the CS. membrane. It revealed good properties of the membrane consisting of amino-functionalized CuNPs. As a result, it gives the maximum percent of the extracted sample of anionic dye an efficacy in extraction. Besides, there was an elucidation of the electrical properties of CuNPs, which were amino-functionalized, through tests of galvanostatic charge-discharge in 3 M KOH electrolyte, and cyclic voltammograms. An analysis of electrochemical data showed that a synthesized amino-functionalized CuNPs demonstrated a stable cycling performance and a higher specific capacitance. Therefore, drawing from the results, an electrode with low-cost amino-functionalized CuNPs is sufficient for electrochemical capacitors with aiming for high performance.
