Abstract
The Cu-Zn-Al ternary oxide system with 2-1-1 mole ratio (C(2)ZA) was prepared by rapid and slow precipitation method and employed as a catalyst for CO2 hydrogenation to methanol. Further, 1 wt.% gold was supported on C(2)ZA rapidly precipitated (RP) system by means of deposition-precipitation (DP) method. The C(2)ZA-RP surface was enriched in copper and showed greater CO2 hydrogenation activity over slowly precipitated system (C(2)ZA-SP). In addition, methanol yield was improved on 1 Au/C(2)ZA due to facile Cu-Au interface.
