Abstract
Three samples of perovskite structure, differing in Fe/Nb ratio (Ba2FexNb2-XO6, X = 0.9, 1.0, 1.1), have been synthesized. They were characterized by XRD and Moessbauer spectroscopy. The catalytic properties of the three samples in methane oxidation reaction were studied in the temperature range 600-850-degrees-C. An explanation of the higher selectivity of the samples with relative iron or niobium excess was proposed.
