Abstract
In this article, a variable repetitive sampling plan is proposed based on exponentially weighted moving average (EWMA) statistic assuming that the quality of interest follows the normal distribution. A nonlinear optimization problem is developed and the plan parameters are determined by satisfying the imposed conditions. The plan parameters are determined when the standard deviation is known or unknown. The efficiency of the proposed plan is discussed over the existing variable plan using the EWMA statistic for single sampling. An example is presented to implement the proposed plan in the industry.
