Abstract
Objectives: To find out the indicence of congenital anomalies requiring urgent surgical procedures in Holy Makkah. Setting: Al Noor Specialist Hospital, Holy Makkah. Design: A retrospective study of congenital anomalies which calculated in reference to the number of live births. The number of live births during this period was 131879 with a rate of 20820 in a year. Our study compared with two international studies. Results: There is a higher incidence of ano-rectal malformation, diaphragamatic hernia, esophageal atresia and meconium peritonitis. congenital hypertrophic pyloric stenosis, jejuno-ileal atresia, exomphalos, gastroschisis and neural tube defect was less in our series.
