Abstract
Systematic review conclusion. A moderate level of evidence exists regarding low-intensity laser therapy and a low level of evidence exists regarding corticotomy regarding effectiveness in acceleration of orthodontic tooth movement. As for interseptal bone reduction, photobiomodulation, or pulsed electromagnetic fields, the evidence level is limited.
Critical summary assessment. Low-intensity laser therapy and corticotomy may be effective for accelerating orthodontic tooth movement, although their real clinical effect is questionable.
