Abstract
Studies have been carried out on the compartmentation ofindole-3-acetic acid (IAA) and related indoles in
Pisum sativum cv. Meteor. By the use of HPLC, GC and combined GC-MS, data were obtained demonstrating the presence of IAA and indole-3-ethanol (IEt) in light-grown pea seedlings. HPLC, GC and GC-MS analyses also confirmed IAA as an endogenous constituent in pea chloroplast fractions while HPLC and GC provided strong evidence for the presence of IEt in chloroplast preparations.
