Abstract
Corrosion inhibition of aluminum in 1M NaOH solution by Mesembryanthemum nodiflorum leaves extract was investigated using the weight loss technique. A plant extract solution of 14 g/L at 50 degrees C was found to inhibit the corrosion of aluminum with an inhibition efficiency of 95.1%. The inhibition efficiency was found to increase with increasing the concentration of the plant extract at 50 degrees C. Different adsorption isotherms, Langmuir and Temkin, were tested to investigate the nature of adsorption.
