Abstract
We have concentrated in this manuscript on tin doping at the manganese site on the magnetocaloric and critical properties of Pr0.7Ca0.1Sr0.2Mn1-xSnxO3 (x = 0, 0.04 and 0.08). All samples were prepared by the sol-gel method. The structural analysis proved the crystallization of all samples in rhombohedral symmetry in the space group R3 c. The results of the magnetocaloric effect (MCE) showed that the values of the maximum variation of the magnetic entropy increases following the increase of Sn. This work shows that our samples can be used as an application to magnetic refrigeration. We concluded from this work that the transition of our materials is a second-order ferromagnetic-paramagnetic phase transition. It can therefore be concluded that the critical phenomena are better described by the 3D-Heisenberg model for the sample at concentration x = 0.
