) which has been characterized by i.r. spectroscopy, gas phase analysis, and E.X.A.F.S.; the model compound Os
3
-(CO)
10
(H)(OSiPh
3
), obtained by the reaction of Os
3
-(CO)
12
with Ph
3
SiOH, confirms the structure of the surface compound (
