Abstract

Two compounds isolated from the alcoholic extract of pyrethrum flowers (Chrysanthemumcinerariaefolium Visiani) have been characterized as the lignan, (+)-sesamin (2) by physical methods and by direct comparison with a known sample and the sesquiterpene, β-cyclopyrethrosin (3) by physical methods and conversion to the known ketone 6.
