Abstract
Kinetic Studies for the substitution reaction of Ph3SnL1 {L-1 = 2-(2.6-dichlorophenyl)amino phenyl acetate} with iodine have been carried out in CH2Cl2 using temperature controlled UV-Visible spectroscopy. The reaction for the cleavage of phenyl-tin bond shows a first order dependence on both reactants. Activation parameters are reported and on the basis of low values of activation enthalpy and entropy. the presence of an intermediate pi complex is suggested for the reaction. The data indicates that the associative mechanism plays a major part in such reactions.
