Abstract
Knowledge & attitudes toward AIDS (acquired immune deficiency syndrome) were assessed with survey data from 328 physicians ([MDs] 74% male) working in 238 primary health care centers in the Asir region of Saudia Arabia. The MDs had little experience with AIDS, & some held faulty beliefs regarding its transmission: 34% failed to identify tattooing as a transmission mode, while 50% identified kissing as a possible mode. It is concluded that MDs in Saudia Arabia need more information about AIDS so that they in turn can counsel patients. 2 Tables, 11 References. Adapted from the source document.
