Abstract
The aim of this work is to present new abstract fixed point theorems in ordered Banach spaces and on Banach algebras. The main existence results generalize Krasnosel'skii's fixed point theorem of compression and expansion to a class of alpha-homogeneous operators andmonotone operators. Two applications to nonlinear Hammerstein integral equations, one of which is of fractional order, are provided together with a numerical example.
