Abstract
Hexagonal LaCO3OH with layer-tunable microstructures have been synthesized by a facile hydrothermal method. Typically, two-dimensional (2D) LaCO3OH microplates and three-dimensional (3D) layer-by layer (LBL) LaCO3OH were produced by simply adjusting the experimental parameters. In the synthetic procedure, the volume of carbon disulfide (CS2) added to the reaction mixture was found to be crucial in the formation of the layer-tunable microstructures. A possible formation mechanism of the LBL LaCO3OH has been also proposed from a temporal evaluation of the products. Furthermore, photoluminescence (PL) study demonstrated that the LBL LaCO3OH emitted stronger fluorescence than the single layer microplates. (c) 2016 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
