Abstract
The title compound, C9H27N5P2Se2, is a member of a class of ligands with properties potentially useful for the extraction and complexation of various metals. In the molecular structure, each P atom is bonded to one Se and three N atoms, with a distorted tetrahedral arrangement around the P atoms. All N atoms are bonded to methyl groups. The terminal Se atoms are in trans positions with respect to each other, and their deviations from the mean plane defined by the central P2NMe core are -1.339 (9) and 1.583 (4) angstrom.
