Abstract

The load duration curve is a primary tool used in the economic analysis of electric utility operations as well as for the purpose of planning new constructions. This paper endeavors to develop a forecasting model for a discrete approximation of the Saudi Eastern Region utility load duration curve. The model is constructed using Box-Jenkins time series analysis. It is shown that the number of approximation segments must be increased to accurately represent the dynamic pattern of the load duration curve.
